This campaign aims to deliver urgent aid directly to Sunbula's partner organizations in Gaza - Atfaluna Society and Sulafa Embroidery Centre. These groups provide income generation opportunities and critical services to hundreds of marginalized people, including women, refugees, and persons with hearing disabilities. As with everyone in Gaza, they are currently facing a catastrophic crisis. This emergency aid will be sent directly to address the most pressing humanitarian needs of the families.
Both the Atfaluna Society and Sulafa Embroidery Centre buildings have suffered damage from bombings. Many individuals in their communities have lost their homes and sustained injuries, and some have also lost their loved ones. Two-thirds of Atfaluna staff and an unknown number of Sulafa artisans have fled to shelters at the UN-run schools. Families face grave humanitarian crisis with food, water and electricity being cut off in blockade while exposed to danger of relentless air strikes.
The funds we raise will be equally distributed between these two organizations, allowing them the flexibility to allocate resources where they are most needed for their staff and families. This might involve providing emergency aid such as food, blankets, medical and hygienic supplies, or providing funds for the reconstruction of homes and buildings.
Our partner organizations and their communities are currently focused on surviving this ongoing ordeal. This campaign seeks to meet the urgent and critical needs of hundreds of vulnerable individuals and their families, who are supported by Atfaluna Society and Sulafa Embroidery Centre, by providing immediate necessities and resources for rebuilding their homes and communities.
