Since 2010, Manos en Accion has worked in Manzanares with over 1,200 vulnerable children and 200 adults. Many mothers in the community never finished school or accessed job training, leaving them outside the formal labor market and trapped in economic dependence and gender inequality. Without a certified trade, supporting their families on their own is very difficult. They are also the closest role models for their children: training them transforms the next generation too.
Gastronomy with Purpose is self-sustaining: catering sales to companies like Hilton, Pfizer, and PwC generate genuine income reinvested in training new women. Each participant graduates with a certified trade and real job prospects, while the program grows with demand. It doesn't rely solely on year-over-year donations: once its startup is funded, the project becomes self-reinforcing and strengthens the whole organization's financial sustainability.
The project has already trained over 100 people in 2025, evolving from a community workshop into a catering service supplying Hilton, Pfizer, PwC, and Renault, among others. Long-term, each graduate achieves sustainable economic independence, through formal employment or her own business. 100% of funds raised are reinvested in the association's social programs, creating a virtuous cycle where every event funds the training of the next generation of women.
