Our greenlight for girls Board Director, Chandana Bhattacharya, met our first scholarship girls from the Nele organization on 19 October in Bangalore to give them the good news - funding for their first semester at university!
These reserved and brilliant girls are eager to study their chosen subjects: engineering, physicis, chemistry, computer science. Along with enrolling in their science studies, they are also now enrolled in their first language classes and plan to build their skills in spoken English. This will also help further their potential in their studies and their working world.
The funding for these girls will not only help with their tuition - but also for basic needs. They have no access to computers or to the internet. Their learning is only through printed materials & books at the moment. We wish to find ways that they can access information electronically and thus add to their learning & exposure to the further resources.
