As an organization, this quarter we have worked extensively in the area of prevention, providing training and raising awareness about child sexual abuse.
In March, a human trafficking prevention workshop was held at Southwestern College, attended by both Mexican and American students. The workshop emphasized that living at one of the busiest borders in the world makes us vulnerable to this issue.
During the same month, a prevention workshop was also conducted at a high school.
Likewise, the “Freedom for Thousands” prevention event was held at a church in Tijuana, with an attendance of 40 children. Through games and workshops, they were taught about abuse prevention.
In addition, a workshop on vulnerabilities was conducted at the Institute of Psychiatry.
A training session was also held in San Diego with a large attendance, where topics such as sexting, human trafficking, grooming methods, and related issues were discussed, providing tools and strategies for prevention.
Furthermore, a sexting prevention workshop was presented at a middle school in Ensenada.
Training was also provided at YWAM San Diego/Baja, equipping participants with the necessary tools to help prevent human trafficking.
Finally, at the Parque de la Amistad in Tijuana, a preventive information booth was set up for individuals seeking information or guidance regarding this issue.
