We're raising $12,000 to buy a 9-seat minivan that will carry our volunteer crews to families recovering from Russian attacks across Ukraine. One of our vehicles broke down last winter, cutting our weekly capacity. A replacement will let us return to 5-6 missions a week - clearing rubble, performing repairs, and restoring damaged homes for elderly residents, families with children, and displaced people in Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Dnipropetrovsk Oblasts.
For families in shelled communities, recovery depends on whether help can physically reach them. Our volunteers are trained, tools are ready, and damaged homes have been identified - but transport is the bottleneck. Last winter pushed one of our minivans past its limit, and after years of hard service, it cannot be repaired. We keep going with the vehicle we have, borrowing transport when missions overlap, but this isn't sustainable. We're turning down requests and delaying families who need us.
We're raising $12,000 to buy a 9-seat minivan that can carry our crew with all their tools and materials. It will return our crews to communities across Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Dnipropetrovsk Oblasts, helping elderly residents, families with children, and displaced people. On site, our volunteers: perform demolition to prepare buildings for reconstruction, carry out plastering, puttying, and painting, clear rubble and remove debris, perform minor repairs and restore affected sites.
Every dollar of the $12,000 goes directly to buying the minivan that will get our second crew back on the road. In four years, Charitable Foundation "BRAVE" has cleared 300+ damaged sites, processed 1,650+ requests from families in Kyiv Oblast, and united 2,000+ volunteers from 30+ countries. Last winter we raised $6,000+ through GlobalGiving and reported transparently on every expense. A minivan is more than transport - it links volunteers with families waiting for help.
