Bridge to Ukraine was created in 2013 by evacuated Peace Corps Ukraine Volunteers looking to find a new way to connect Americans and Ukrainians while also improving the lives of Ukrainians. During these past 7 years, we have trained and funded youth projects, supplied Internally Displaced Peoples (IDPs) from Eastern and Southern Ukraine with necessities after they had to flee their homes, and partnered with other organizations like Eastern Rinok and Patients of Ukraine. Unfortunately, with a global pandemic, a looming recession, and another evacuation of Peace Corps Ukraine, we have decided that we will be closing down this month.
We wanted to thank you all SO MUCH for all the support you have given us over the past 7 years. Whether it was through donations, shares or likes on Facebook, or just following our posts, you helped us reach our mission of connecting America and Ukraine.
The rest of the funds that we have collected will be donated to Patients of Ukraine to purchase even more PPE and other equipment needed to help doctors in Ukraine fight COVID-19. With the school year starting and flu season coming up, we think that this is the biggest need Ukraine has at the moment.
Even though Bridge to Ukraine will be gone, there are still many organizations doing similar work. We highly recommend you check out Razom for Ukraine and Nova Ukraine (links below) and consider donating to their causes.
