In the midst of the holiday hustle, I wanted to take the time to share the updates of our 2019 Holiday Wish Drive to deliver joy to 80,000 children, seniors, and individuals in need across the Bay Area. In an effort to share the journey of wishes, Family Giving Tree has added scanning to our process. We will be able to track the individual wishes from agency request to Drive Leader distribution, back to the warehouse and into the arms of the person who requested the gift. Our goal is to be able to share more stories like Haydee’s:
A single mother working multiple jobs to support her two children, Haydee was suddenly struck with a debilitating injury. With medical bills piling up and the inability to work, Haydee’s world came to a sudden stop as her expenses kept coming and she had no way to provide for her boys and parents. In her words, Family Giving Tree “made Christmas for us. There was something to open that day.”
Everything can change in an instant, and the high cost of Bay Area living is a barrier to holiday celebration for many. You can make a difference and deliver joy to those like Heydee and her family.
