Across Syria, thousands of women like Fatima shoulder the full weight of survival after losing their husbands to war and displacement. Through this project, we will provide food and hygiene vouchers to 790 women-headed households, empowering mothers to feed their children, choose what they need, and restore their dignity in a world that has taken so much from them.
After 14 years of crisis, Syria's women-headed households are among the most vulnerable. With husbands killed, detained, or missing, these women struggle to provide food and hygiene essentials for their families. Poverty forces many into unsafe labor, while malnutrition and poor sanitation spread rapidly. Traditional aid models often strip women of choice and dignity-leaving them unseen and unheard.
This project will deliver food and hygiene support to 790 women-headed households through a voucher-based system, allowing each mother to choose what best serves her family. Our female-led teams will distribute vouchers in safe, gender-sensitive spaces. Every voucher represents trust, respect, and the restoration of control-helping women protect their families, maintain health, and rebuild their lives with dignity.
Beyond meeting urgent needs, this initiative builds resilience. When women can feed and care for their children, they can plan for education, avoid exploitation, and regain confidence. Research shows that empowering women with choice strengthens entire communities. Together, we're not only providing food-we're creating pathways to dignity, stability, and hope for hundreds of Syrian families.
