International Youth Day is celebrated annually on August 12. It's a day dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the contributions of young people around the world. The day is an opportunity to highlight issues affecting youth, promote youth participation in decision-making, and empower young people to make a positive impact on their communities and the world.
As the second term of the academic year came to a close, Royal College Buwenge in Eastern Uganda hosted us for a vibrant and inspiring International Youth Day celebration. The event brought together students, faculty, and community members to explore the themes of peacebuilding and leadership.
Leading the charge were a trio of our volunteers: Malik, Edmund & Dalton. These dedicated leaders conducted an engaging leadership workshop that equipped the young minds of Royal College Buwenge with valuable skills and knowledge. Through thought-provoking discussions and practical exercises, the students were inspired to embrace their potential as agents of change.
The event was a testament to the power of youth and their ability to make a positive impact on the world. The enthusiasm and commitment displayed by the students were truly inspiring. As we look forward to the upcoming term, we encourage all our young peacemakers to continue exploring their leadership potential and striving for a brighter future.
