Freedom Collaborative is a centralized community focused on fighting exploitation, human trafficking and slavery. It includes contribution from major organizations and agencies, but also gives a greater voice to the grassroots efforts done in individual communities. This platform encourages collaboration, and brings the best practices and programs to the forefront of the movement.
Human trafficking is the fastest growing criminal industry in the world, and it's a problem that can't be solved by a single organization, no matter how big or well-meaning. The many facets of the industry refute a jack-of-all-trades approach. And while grassroots efforts often have the best handle on what takes place in their communities, they can experience difficulty in widely disseminating their valuable knowledge and research.
FC serves as common ground for all anti-human trafficking organizations, from the global scale to the grassroots level. It is an aggregation of programs and resources relevant to the fight against trafficking. It lends itself to granting a louder voice to grassroots groups who may not have been heard previously, allowing them the opportunity to join the conversation and showcase their work. FC encourages a level of collaboration that has the potential to expedite the end of human trafficking.
Ultimately, Freedom Collaborative exists to bring justice to survivors through the collaboration between organizations and individuals at every level and angle of the fight against human trafficking. With the increase in networking and shared knowledge, we can avoid an unnecessary duplication in efforts and be more effective in the movement as a whole.
