Dear Teach For Bulgaria supporters,
We sincerely thank you for contributing to our project Summer Academy for 500 children!
Without you and your support our efforts would not be complete.
We are more than happy to share with you than this summer more than 800 students from 1st to 12th grade took part in the 9th Summer Academy for Fun and Success. They spent three weeks of their summer vacation developing useful skills, getting ready for the upcoming school year, getting involved in exciting extracurricular activities, and making new friends. The official opening of the Summer Academy was on July 29 and took place at 90 Secondary School “Gen. José de San Martín” in Lyulin neighborhood and 125 Secondary School “Boyan Penev” in Mladost neighborhood. Some of the official guests this year were Deputy Mayor of Sofia City Todor Chobanov, Head of the Regional Management of Education for Sofia City Vanya Kastreva (Lyulin), and other representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science, Sofia Municipality, the Bulgarian Union of Teachers, and partner organizations. The teachers at the Academy are professionals with diverse backgrounds and will teach different disciplines. They are all trained based on the international "Teach as a Leader" model, created with a focus on the success of each student.
