Village Dullam 325 G.B is a rural area, 6 km from the city of Toba Tek Singh. This area has a total population of 4003 individuals. The village has no government hospital and private clinic. There is no proper electricity water system in the area. There is only one Government school which is not in the reach of the village people as it’s in other village. Because of that many children did not give education to their children they prefer to take them to the work. Most of the people from the village from this village work as laborer on brick machines which is really heard work.
IN this situation Joy Foundation start school in this village for the poor children and give them education and formation. In the starting pried of school their very less children in the school but after the hard of our staff day by day school have big number of children. At this time we have 6 grades including, Nursery, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. The teachers are doing their best and teaching the students. The children are also very happy when they come to school. Big achievement is that school is no register with the Government of Punjab.
Every year after the annual Exams Joy Foundation gives free books/copies/uniform and other school needs to the children which will be great support to the children and family. In the mean time as the number of student is growing Joy Foundation need to build new rooms to have more space.

The community in vilage Dullam is always thankful for the contributions that Joy Foundation is doing in their area, particularly the opportunity of education for their children. Due to the Joy Foundation School, the children in the village are receiving quality education. The school is preparing the children for a better future for their families and their village. At this time we have 6 grades including, Nursery, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. The teachers are doing their best and teaching the students. The children are also very happy when they come to school.
Previously we shared that Joy Foundation will be constructing 2 new classrooms in the school because the number of students have increased and we need to have enough space to accomodate all the students. The boundary wall and the space for the rooms has been set up but we await funds to start the construction of the new classes. We are looking forward for the better future for the school and the children of village Dullam.
Joy Foundation is running a school for the most underprivileged children in Toba Tek Singh. We have been providing free of cost quality education to the children whose parents cannot afford their education expenses. As there is no area in the school, it is even more expensive for them to send their child to the school in town. Given these circumstances we provided them the facility of quality education in their own village which will be even easy for their children as they will not have to go far for school. The parents are very thankful to Joy Foundation for providing them such a facility and for giving their children the opportunity to receive education. One of the parents said, ' Now, we have hope for our children.' We have Parents Counseling Meetings as well, just to make the parents more involved in their children's educational progress.
At present the school is going through construction as we need 2 more new rooms given that the number of students have increased in the school. We have completed the boundry wall of the new area that will be used for the school but the construction of the classrooms still awaits funds. We hope it will be completed soon. We also need new books and stationary for the new classes as well. We hope that soon we will have enough funds that will help us fullfill all the needs of the school children.
Joy Foundation is running a Formal Education School for the underprivileged children in Toba Tek Singh. The school area is a rural setting and lacks a lot of facilities including clean water and electricity. The area does not have any school and the children lack education. Hence Joy Foundation opened a primary education school to provide the facility of education in the village. Joy Foundation provides children with the best facilities in the school, including books, bags, uniform and clean drinking water and electricity as well. The teachers are also well qualified and devoted towards their work.
The project is very important because the parenst are depending on Joy Foundation for the education of their children. We hope that soon we will have funds to support the school for a longer time and provide them with more facilities. The schools are closed at the moment due to the pandemic but soon the schools will re-open and we hope that before the re-opening of school, Joy Foundation will have enough funds for this project to be able to construct 2 more new rooms in the school. We hope that you will continue to support us and soon we will have enough funds for this project.
Due to the smart lockdown in Pakistan, all schools were closed again in country and online classes were encouraged by the government. It was difficult for the village underprivileged children to have online classes due to lack of required sources, but because of the loss of academic course during this year due to the pandemic we decided to divide books at the home of the children to continue their study at home using their books so organization distribute the books to the children in group of 10 because of the COVID but our organization able to distribute books among the 50 underprivileged children.
For starting the new academic year books were more important for the school children and the teachers also insisted for books for children. So with the kind support of our friends through GlobalGiving, we organized a books distribution for School children.
SUCCESS STORY FROM THE FIELD
Sahil (it’s not his real name) is a student of Joy Foundation School. Before the Joy Foundation School existed in village the children had to go to another village to school but Sahil could not do so because of his disability. After the opening of Joy Foundation School in village, Sahel’s parents requested Joy Foundation to help their child receive quality education along with other children in our school. So Sahil started coming to Joy Foundation School along with other students. We provided him with wheel chair and also supported him for his education.
Today he received his books and was very happy for the support. Joy Foundation believes in equality and inclusion for all. Sahil is a very intelligent student of our school and we will keep supporting him for a healthy and brighter future that he deserves.
On the behalf of Joy Foundation staff and children and the community, we would like to wish you all a very SAFE & CHEERFUL NEW YEAR. STAY SAFE & KEEP PRAYING!
