Free psychological support for people excluded from mental healthcare in Barcelona and across Spain: refugees, migrants, LGBTQ+ people, and people facing disability or economic hardship. Through volunteer therapists, group support, and one-to-one companionship, we help isolated people access care they couldn't otherwise afford. Many face barriers of cost, immigration status, or language. Your donation keeps this support free for those who need it most.
Up to 40% of people experience a mental health issue at some point in their lives, in Spain and worldwide. Yet public systems are overwhelmed and lack capacity for inclusive, community-based care. Support remains out of reach for many, especially refugees, LGBTQ+ individuals, survivors of domestic violence, people facing unemployment and poverty, and youth at risk of social exclusion. Those most in need are often left without the quality care they deserve.
Iguality built a network of volunteer therapists offering free weekly individual and group therapy, online and in person. As we've grown, we've expanded to holistic care: combining therapy with group sports, physiotherapy, LGBTQ+ support, legal guidance, and community advocacy. This bridges personal wellbeing with collective empowerment, ensuring care is not only free, but inclusive, consistent, and rooted in social justice, for refugees, LGBTQ+ people, and others facing exclusion.
Iguality works toward a society where equal access to mental health care is the norm, not the exception. By mobilising volunteers, communities, and institutions, we aim to influence how public and private systems approach inclusive care. Long-term, this means more people at risk of exclusion, especially migrants, refugees, and LGBTQ+ individuals, gaining not just relief but lasting stability, dignity, and the chance to fully participate in society.
