The circumstances regarding COVID-19 are affecting the entire world, and La Pagina en La Puerta is no exception. After more than 9 weeks, the entire country of Peru is still under mandatory lock-down and quarantine, meaning we’ve had to close La Pagina’s doors until further notice. Our children and staff are home with their families, as all schools and most places of work have also been suspended.
We want to keep the kids in our community safe, so we will abide by government guidelines and asses the situation in the coming weeks and months to determine when we can re-open our doors. The children will be anxious to get out of their homes to visit us, read books at the library, and play games. We cannot wait to welcome them!
We will open our doors back up as soon as we can, and we hope that our next report brings news of our re-opened facilities and re-booted activities. For now, please keep yourselves and your families healthy.
