During the past three months (December 2015 to February 2016) Agewell Foundation distributed 61 wheelchairs and 160 walkers to destitute elderly living in slums of Delhi & NCR (national capital territory) through its local volunteers. All these beneficiaries were facing acute mobility problems before getting equipment as their families could not afford these equipment for them due to their poor financial status. Healthcare equipment, particularly wheelchairs transformed their life to some extent.
Agewell has also been providing Adult Diapers to bedridden/elderly patients on a regular basis for the past three months. During this period over 55 destitute bedridden elderly have availed the benefit of Agewell initiative. Beneficiaries are identified and selected by Agewell volunteers. They found these elderly living in merciless situations due to poverty and neglect by their family members and society. Regular supply of Adult diapers helped these elderly and their family members a lot in maintaining cleanliness around them.
Agewell Foundation is committed to provide for older people particularly destitute and needy. Currently, Agewell Foundation's old age healthcare project is being supported by local contributors and volunteers.
Agewell Foundation needs financial support from corporate organizations and individuals on urgent basis so that it can provide timely help to a large number of destitute elderly, living in distress conditions.
