Our latest Open Day in Dire Dawa, Ethiopia

We recently hosted our highly anticipated Annual Farmers' Open Day in Dire Dawa, Ethiopia, bringing together over 200 farmers, agricultural experts, university representatives, and government officials for an inspiring showcase of innovation and progress at Haramaya University's Tony Research Farm. Farmers had the exclusive opportunity to discover cutting-edge vegetable varieties - including new selections of tomato, hot pepper, onion, cabbage, and watermelon - carefully chosen from our extensive variety trials to enhance yield, resilience, and profitability. We also introduced advanced water-saving irrigation technologies, offering practical solutions to optimize resources and improve sustainability. More than just a presentation, this event served as a dynamic networking hub, connecting farmers with suppliers, NGOs, financial institutions, and policymakers to foster collaboration and drive the future of smallholder farming in the region. The response was overwhelming! Many farmers expressed strong interest in joining our training programs, eager to implement these innovations on their farms. With your support, we can expand our reach and equip even more farmers with the skills and knowledge needed for a brighter, more productive future.

Join us in making a difference - let’s grow together!
