Mission accomplished

New carpenter machine
New carpenter machine

Many families in Serbia are living in poverty and can't provide basic necessities for their babies. Buying a baby feeding chair is impossible for many families, although they are much needed in everyday life of a growing baby. In addition, chairs are unavailable or too expensive for children with disabilities, leaving parents with extensive day care issues and obstacles.

Our Foundation started this fundraiser in order to support individual activists Mr. Mile Jurkovic, well known for his philanthropic work. Out of his pure heart, last year Mile started to produce and donate baby feeding chairs. Since May 2015, he has finished over 850 chairs with his own hands and simply gave them to the families in need!  Project aimed to further support this great initiative and provide Mile's workshop with much needed carpenter machine in order to produce specially adjusted chairs for children with disabilities. Having in mind particular needs of children with disabilities, each chair must be tailor made and produced separately according to the particular needs of a child.

We are happy to inform you that we managed to raise all needed funds and in kind support to finish this project. On Global Giving we have raised 675$. In addition, Divac Foundation’s long-term individual donor donated 2.500$ directly to our account. With this budget, we have enough funds to buy a professional carpenter machine which will be manufactured by a local company by the end of February 2017. In cooperation with our corporate donors, Foundation raised in kind donation of all needed wood material, paint and lac.

We will invest additional effort to search for donation of producing materials, that will ensure ongoing production of chairs in the future. Support which Mile Jurkovic provides to these families is hugely important for children, and their caregivers, particularly for children with disabilities.

The Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation is expressing gratitude to the donors and all those that helped in reaching this goal. Thank you!
