Free a Child from Debt Bondage in Pakistan

Organization: Humanity Child Protection Foundation
Project Duration: 9 Months
Total Fundraising Goal: $2,000
Amount Raised: $498
Funding Needed: $1,502

Summary

At just 12 years old, Kashif should be learning, playing, and dreaming about his future. Instead, he faces the harsh reality of child labor, working in a tea shop under the burden of a debt left behind by his deceased parents.

As an orphan living in poverty, Kashif has been deprived of the safety, education, and care every child deserves. His circumstances reflect the devastating impact of debt bondage, in which vulnerable children can become trapped in exploitative work rather than having the opportunity to attend school and enjoy a safe childhood.

Through this project, Humanity Child Protection Foundation aims to help Kashif escape this cycle of exploitation, secure his protection, and build a pathway toward education and a brighter future. With your support, the project will work to resolve the debt that is keeping him in labor, facilitate his transition out of child labor, enroll him in school, and provide essential food, clothing, healthcare, and emotional support.

Your contribution can help turn a childhood shaped by hardship into a future filled with learning, dignity, and opportunity.

The Challenge: A Childhood Stolen by Debt

Kashif is only 12 years old, yet he faces responsibilities and hardships no child should have to bear. Following the death of his parents, poverty and an outstanding debt have left him vulnerable to exploitation and forced him into work at a tea shop.

Instead of attending school, developing friendships, and receiving the care he needs, Kashif spends his time working in an environment that may expose him to long hours, unsafe conditions, and physical and emotional stress.

Debt bondage and child labor can rob children of their fundamental rights, limit their development, and perpetuate poverty across generations. Without timely and sustained support, Kashif risks losing critical years of education and facing continued economic insecurity.

He needs more than temporary relief. He needs a safe route out of exploitation, access to education, consistent care, and the support necessary to remain protected.

Our Solution: Protection, Education, and a Fresh Start

Humanity Child Protection Foundation aims to provide Kashif with a coordinated package of protection and recovery support over nine months.

1. Support to Resolve the Debt

The project will assess the outstanding debt and work toward a safe, lawful resolution, helping remove the financial pressure associated with Kashif's labor. Any repayment will be handled with appropriate verification and safeguards to ensure that the intervention does not expose him to further exploitation.

2. Protection from Child Labor

The project will work to facilitate Kashif's safe removal from exploitative work and connect him with appropriate child-protection support. His safety, best interests, and long-term well-being will guide the intervention.

3. Access to Education

Kashif will receive assistance with school enrollment, educational supplies, and other essential learning needs so that he can begin rebuilding his future through education.

4. Food, Clothing, and Essential Healthcare

Support will help address his immediate needs, including nutritious food, suitable clothing, basic healthcare, and other necessities that contribute to a safe and stable childhood.

5. Emotional Support and Continued Monitoring

The project will provide appropriate emotional support and regular follow-up to assess Kashif's safety, educational progress, and overall well-being. Where necessary, the foundation will seek referrals to qualified child-protection and psychosocial services.

Project Goals and Expected Outcomes

Over the nine-month project period, the foundation aims to:

  • Help resolve the debt associated with Kashif's exploitation.
  • Facilitate his transition out of child labor.
  • Support his enrollment and continued participation in school.
  • Provide essential food, clothing, educational materials, and basic healthcare assistance.
  • Monitor his safety, adjustment, and educational progress.
  • Reduce the risk of his returning to exploitative work because of unmet basic needs.

Progress will be documented through appropriate records, school enrollment information where available, support-distribution records, and follow-up assessments, while protecting Kashif's identity and privacy.

Long-Term Impact: Breaking the Cycle of Exploitation

Helping Kashif leave debt bondage is not simply about ending his work at a tea shop. It is about restoring his right to childhood and allowing him to learn, develop, and pursue a future beyond poverty.

Access to education and essential care can help him build the knowledge, confidence, and skills needed for greater independence as he grows older. Continued monitoring and practical support can also reduce the pressures that might otherwise push him back into child labor.

The project will demonstrate the importance of addressing the underlying causes of exploitation, including poverty, family vulnerability, lack of educational access, and unsafe working conditions.

By supporting Kashif today, donors can contribute to a future in which children are protected, education is accessible, and financial hardship does not determine a child's destiny.

Why Your Support Matters

Our fundraising goal is $2,000, of which $498 has been raised, leaving $1,502 still needed to reach the target.

Every contribution brings this project closer to providing the protection, education, and essential care Kashif needs. Donations will support the project's verified costs, including debt-resolution assistance, school enrollment, educational materials, necessities, and appropriate follow-up.

Your generosity can help give a vulnerable child the opportunity to leave exploitation behind and move toward a safer, more hopeful future.

Together, we can help Kashif reclaim his childhood, return to learning, and grow up with dignity, protection, and hope.
