The TSIBA Founders' Gift Campaign commenced in 2022 to raise funding for the acquisition and construction of a new TSIBA Campus. Our efforts have been rewarded with interest and funding committed through various channels and platforms, including GlobalGiving through whom USD$ 200 000 has been raised from a campaign target of USD$ 1 000 000.
The funds raised have enabled work to start on the construction of the building site, with significant progress made as the attached images suggest. Demolition will be complete by mid-March 2023, following which the work to create beautiful spaces will commenced. This work includes construction of internal spaces to enable teaching and learning, and will extend further into creating extrnal green spaces.
The new TSIBA campus will honor our determination that while students at TSIBA pay only what they can afford, they absolutely deserve to learn in an environment which is inspirational to a sustainable and and green environment. To this end, TSIBA has extended its fundraising appeal to those interested one of the beautiful tree on the campus grounds. One example is the beautiful young 'Pride of Bolivia - Tipuana tipu' situated on the campus west side. In her life Tipuana will have thousands of students sit under her branches as they gaze at her magnificant foliage and leaves. She will also inspire our students to the magnificance of trees and why they must be cared for at all costs. In addition, in our aspiration to create a lush green campus TSIBA will also plant 20 indigenous trees in a 'Tree Avenue' as one aspect of our broader Campus Greening Project.
There are thus oppotunities for funding partners to a 'Adopt a TSIBA Tree' (of which there are many) or to help fund our tree avenue, and in doing so to fund education for this who might otherwise not have had such an opportunity, while also contributing to a greener world. These present wonderful opportunities to invest in young people and the environment simultaneously.
Further Founders Gift fundraising will tahe place with TSIBA Chairperson Gia Whitehead travelling to Europe in March and April of this year. While in Europe TSIBA plan to record a live purpose-lived panel podcast conversation in London. The conversation is intended to inspire others to purpose - and will also underpin this fundraising campaign. The link will be shared on this paltform in due course. Similar Purpose-Lived conversations have taken place throughout the last year and are shared freely on the TSIBA website through the Purpose-Lived link.
Further presentations and events are scheduled in France, Switzerland and back home in South Africa as we continue to achieve our minimum target of USD 1 000 000. Hopefully we will realise far more, and in doing so secure the future of TSIBA for generations ahead.
We hope that our ealy Project Report will generate additional interest and our campaign goal, and ultimately in the work to invest in yong people - the custodians of our collective future.
