Dear donor,
The Fazendo História Institute extends its heartfelt gratitude for your support of the Foster Families project. Your generosity has had a profound impact on the lives of the children we assist.
In our work, we play a crucial role in the lives and development of numerous children aged 0 to 6 and their biological families. These families, temporarily facing situations of social vulnerability, have had their children temporarily removed from their care.
With the goal of providing these children with meaningful and personalized care within a family setting, far from institutional shelters, we invest in preparing Foster Families who are willing to offer these children an abundance of love, affection, and security during these challenging times. This approach enables them to redefine their experiences with the guidance of prepared and empathetic adults who are attentive to their life stories.
Your ongoing support will bolster our mission to empower these families to ensure the full biopsychosocial development of our children. This includes creating emotional memories and providing emotional security while their legal cases are being managed by the courts.
Your continued support reinforces our mission to protect and empower not only the children but also their biological families who are facing challenging and violent situations.
Today, we are pleased to share the heartwarming story of a family that found assistance in our project, enabling them to rebuild their bond with their children and create opportunities to rewrite the chapters of their lives together.
Natalia and Marcelo encountered many obstacles due to their experiences of vulnerability, such as health issues, experiences of homelessness, and various forms of violence. Understanding their challenges and limited resources, Natalia and Marcelo sought help from individuals and organizations to find a solution that would ensure their family's well-being and the care of their children, Caio and Raul. However, they lost custody of their children.
Fortunately, both children received warm embraces and much affection from two Foster Families associated with the Fazendo História Institute. These families ensure individualized care for the children and foster close interactions and bonds between the siblings, connecting their affections and expanding their developmental opportunities.
This biological family received significant support from our team to overcome their challenges, which included attentive listening, support, understanding of their fears, guidance, and respect for their desires. Over time, with the assistance of our dedicated team, Natalia and Marcelo came to realize that, despite their deep bond and affection for their children, the best solution at this moment was for the children to live with their paternal grandmother and aunt in the northeastern region of Brazil. This became possible through the financial support provided by our institution.
Before their departure, recognizing the importance and significance of parents in their children's lives, a beautiful farewell meeting was organized for Caio, Raul, Natalia, and Marcelo. During this meeting, they could express their love, connection, and affection, paving the way to ensure strong family bonds and allowing the parents to take care of themselves with peace of mind, knowing that their children were with their extended family. They were eagerly awaited with love, and there is hope that this farewell will become a heartfelt "see you soon."
Thank you for making stories like that possible.
Kind regards,
Instituto Fazendo História Team
