February 2026 update on Civilian Crisis Response

Between October 16th, 2025, and February 9th, 2026, Forward Alliance conducted 42 training lessons and trained 929 people. This brings the total to 510 training lessons and 18,236 trained civilians since December 2023. During this quarter, we continue to focus on working with private organizations and our Community Ambassador program to deepen the empowerment.

Now, time to share more details about what we do in our Communication Course.

Emergency communication is crucial for everyone’s safety and the team's coordination. Learn how to operate a radio when networks fail and stay connected with your team. The participants will practice effective documentation and communication up the chain, which can provide valuable assistance to the first responders during a crisis.

In our “iCanHelp” digital application, there is a chapter dedicated to the new technology “Meshtastic”. Meshtastic is an open-source, long-range mesh networking protocol that uses affordable LoRa radios to provide off-grid, decentralized text messaging and GPS tracking without the need for a cell phone tower or internet connection. We believe Meshtastic can act as a fallback method in an emergency. This is also a fun demonstration of how new, low-entry-level technology can empower communities to build their own resilience network.
