Between November 5th, 2024 and March 3rd, 2025, Forward Alliance conducted 79 training lessons and trained 2,682 people. This brings to a total of 349 training lessons and 13,263 trained civilians since December 2023. During this quarter, collaboration with public and private organizations is still our main focus. We believe training with organizations like conscripts, law enforcement, and private enterprises with their own existing networks is a great force multiplier.
Another accomplishment worth mentioning this quarter is our online manual (available on March 12th). Forward Alliance has been thinking about ways to share our knowledge beyond physical trainings. We transcribed our trainings into manuals with sketches and pictures for everyone to view. For people who have trained with us, it's a great way to review and refresh. For people who haven't had a chance to interact with us, it may help provide some guidance when needed.
We would also like to share more details about what we do in our Light Search & Rescue Training Course. In this course, the participants will work in a team setting to size-up a scene, assess the situation, and plan their course of action. They will be able to identify signs of a dangerous building, and then locate and extricate survivors from safe-to-enter building. The in-class exercise includes leveraging, cribbing, and lifting with bare hands or surrounding material in the environment.
Feedback from participants
“I have gained a deeper understanding of various trauma mechanisms. The scenario-based exercise gave me a chance to test my ability for field assessments. The course is extremely knowledgeable. I am looking forward to more training in the future!”
“Don’t forget practice makes perfect! This is my takeaway today. Thank you so much for the great training today!”
“If more people learn how to size up, we will be able to help the first responders at the scene.”
“In general, the civilian search and rescue training are easy to follow and understand.”
“I love the practicality of techniques for lifting, leveraging, and cribbing.”
