Our proven program equips teachers to guide children to understanding and accepting themselves and others, fostering values like honesty, respect and responsibility.
Venezuela's social and economic crisis has left many children and adolescents without positive guidance. Pregnancy and gang life seem to be their main options. Teen births are up and so is crime. The need for values-based education is critical. Heroic Venezuelan teachers are keen to teach human values and self-determination but need the tools to become effective catalysts for social healing and community renewal.
These 214 empowered teachers will become agents of change, inspiring countless young lives by effectively delivering the Alive to the World program to about 16,000 children and adolescents in the State of Zulia, one of our hardest hit regions. Engaging them with life situations for discernment and growth leads to life skills and positive decisions, thus transforming attitudes, families and communities, as in Aragua State.
This isn't just about education, it's about building a brighter future for Venezuela. Twenty years of this methodology has proved to reduce violence and pregnancies in some of the most depressed areas, and motivates young people to remain in school. The social healing and reconciliation that this solid program produces will serve as an example for other regions and have a ripple effect for present and future generations.
