Revolutionizing reforestation: Iracambi tries the "Muvuca" planting

By Juliana Ferreira | Communication Coordinator

Dear friends,

We are super excited to share with you about a new planting method that we are testing here in Iracambi: the muvuca.

"Muvuca" is an indigenous word that means "mixture" or "blend".

The muvuca is a planting technique that involves mixing several seeds in the same place, without any kind of ordering. This technique is known for its high species diversity and for being a more sustainable and economical alternative to conventional planting.

In addition, the muvuca has the advantage of providing quick vegetation cover, thus reducing soil erosion.

We are very excited to test this new planting method and see how it can be applied in our reforestation projects. We hope to achieve good results and contribute to the promotion of biodiversity in the region.

We hope you are as excited as we are and we can't wait to share more news soon! Stay tuned!

Best regards,

The Iracambi team
