Uganda went through a series of lockdowns as a result of COVID 19 pandemic and this disrupted many aspects of already fragile health situations. Maternal deaths went up, many children were not immunized. A number of people with non communicable diseases could not have access to critically needed medical care. Our clinics for non communicable diseases have remained closed and there is urgent need to reopen them. We need to repair our ambulance and start evacuating mothers, provide delivery kits.
Uganda beinf affected by effects of climate change and post pandemic challnges and this has left many poor people vulnerable. The cost of living has gone very high and the only ambulance that was evacuating pregnant women is broken down because it over worked during the peak of Covid 19 pandemic. The diabetic clinic, hypertension clinic and cervical cancer screening for the poor people have all not resumed because of limited resources. There is urgent need to rebuild health strong health systems
This project will urgently help the poor people to access the highly needed healthcare especially non communicable diseases and maternal health care. Screening women for cervical cancer, provide pregnant women with ante natal care and delivery kits. Repair the ambulance and evacuate pregnant women and other emergencies. Provide mobile clinics in Rural areas to the poor people who may not easily have access to better healthcare.
We need to prevent more mothers from dying due to strained health systems and also prevent more teenage pregnancies. Many poor people with non communicable diseases need to get back to the routine clinics to ensure stability in their existing health conditions and also help them to get engaged in normal economic activities so that they can regain their normal life as a result of advrse effects of climate change and pandemics
