Covid 19 Pandemic has severly affected the education sector in Uganda. Many children reported for the first time in class to meet with Teachers on 10th of January 2022 after being at Home for two years. Many teenage girls got pregnant during this period. Many parents or care takers lost jobs and other sources of income. A number of private schools could not re-open because the proprietors became bankrupt. Parents were scrambling for the limited space as a big numbers of children who were supposed to join school two years ago went to school at once. We were able to send 19 chidren to school 11 girls and 8 boys. We thank GlobalGiving for this platform and all the donors who contributed to make it possible for these children to go back to school.12 children were provided with basic scholastic materials like books pens uniforms to attend day schools. 7 children were enrolled into boarding schools because the closest school from their homes is more than 20 miles. In Uganda we have three school terms and school fees and scholastic materials are needed every term. The fist tern will break for three weeks in April and eary May children are expected to go back to school. We still appeal to our partners to keep contributing through this platform so that we can keep the future of these children alive.
