Trivandrum Don Bosco provided food kits to 50 needy families in the district. The families were mostly from urban slums. Interventions like food kit provision help the community be stable. The breadwinners of many families work for daily wage and their financial situation is unstable. The working members of the family may even misuse the wages they earn due to the prevalence of drugs in the area. There are days when even the children from those families have to go to bed with an empty stomach. This directly impacts their education, health, and much more.
Realizing this situation and its dangerous impact on children, Don Bosco put a plan forward support to these families. Food kit provision is a solid step where we could make sure that none of the family members would starve. This also positively impacts the health condition of the family. Supporting vulnerable families with their most basic needs is something that helps the family in times of despair.
Don Bosco works for the welfare of youth and children, through activities like food kit distribution, we aim to empower them.
