Trivandrum Don Bosco Veedu will provide food kits to 100 street dwellers who are starving in Trivandrum's streets. The homeless people are mostly mentally ill, abandoned, elderly, and migrant refugees. The state facilities to shelter these people are scarce, and the existing shelters are not functioning. Hence, these people beg for a living. Providing meals would help them move a day without starvation. Food kits will help poor people feed their family.
Homeless people are a common scenario in the state. The government is often negligent in taking necessary action due to lack of funds. The people would not have proper ID proofs with them, making it difficult for the people coming forward to help them. During the pandemic and after, starvation was the main issue that was identified. Men, women and children equally starve waiting for some philanthropic individuals to help them by giving them a meal. Poor households too face hunger in the state.

In the long term, more organizations, volunteers and philanthropists would come forward to help the homeless people making it a huge movement and policy level changes will be made for their welfare. Eventhough rations are provided to poor people there are still people who are starving. This issue too would be raised before the government so that the state protects it's individuals.
