The new school year in Kenya began in the first week of January. Our Food for Thought lunch program is up and running at our three Focus Schools. There are over 200 students currently enrolled in grade nine in our Focus Schools who are served a nutritious daily meal of githeri. Githeri is a meal of maize and beans, cooked in a pot over an open flame.
For many of the students we support in our academic and lunch programs, run out of the Kiwimbi Library, this might be the only meal they have in a day. It is so important that we are able to continue to provide this vital meal.
Thank you for your gift that allows us to keep feeding these students.
