Challenge
Malnutrition has many underlying causes, poverty being only one possible factor. Many other factors play into families' as inability to provide their children with the macro and micronutrients they need. Rice is rich in carbohydrates but is poor in micronutrients and Bengali diets tend to over rely on this main staple. Good nutrition requires a diverse diet rich in micronutrients. Micronutrient fortified school meals can support children to overcome the dietary challenges their families face. We strongly urges to come forward helping these malnourished students provided regular meals as we planned for. Occasionally we are providing meals and fortified biscuits from our own resources
Long-Term Impact
The project help to educate and provide meal and fortified biscuits to 200 poor learners to reduce anemia prevalence and improved micronutrient status. Substantially increased rate of enrollment in school, increased school attendance and reduced rate of school dropout. Improved child health, nutrition; social protection and local economies. Fortified biscuits have improved school enrollment by 80% and reduced the probability of drop-outs by 90% that impacted in communities in the long run.
