Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our project providing food, education and emergency support for girls. This initiative is very important especially now that the education system is hard-put in implementing standard education modules due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Resorting to what is called blended learning and the use of the internet and computers is not accessible to all especially to those located in interior, remote villages. Towards this, we support alternative education system especially for women and girls by the establishment of a learning center in a remote village. The aim is to provide direct access to learning and training the practical way with focus on agriculture, entrepreneruship, livelihood and home economics. We are starting to recruit women and girls residing in the vicinity of the training center and later on we will expand to neighboring villages here. Before the year ends we aim to train a total of 300 individuals. Hoping for your continuing support and encouragement.
Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our project assisting girls with emergency support. This reporting period, we are focusing our effort to stem the effect of the Coronavirus to the local population. Some individuals have already been tested in our vicinity and there is a need to also assist especially our beneficiaries in the remote barrios. We are doing this by the provision of soap because soap is one of the most effective measures for the virus not to proliferate. Thanks to a donor who provided us the funds in order to purchase soap in bulk. We are able to distribute soap to 300 women and girls and we will continue to do so as long as our supply last.
Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our initiative providing food, education and emergency support for girls. There are instances that we encounter girls in difficult circumstance and we try to assist them with their needs. The allure of going to big cities in order to find work beckons to them and with low skills in life, they will have difficulty in surviving and most often they are exploited by unscrupolous individuals. This reporting period we introduced several women on how to hatch ducklings from the ducks that they raised. The egg production from the ducks that we dispersed before are the eggs that they will be using. The added value for the eggs in this venture is high encouraging us to expand our support to local entrepreneurs.
Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our initiative providing food, education and emergency support for girls. This reporting period we launched a project raising native chickens as model livelihood for girls to apply in their own homes. Aside from being a model, the module will be used to reproduce young chicks for distribution to those interested in raising them with the repayment of equal number of chicks to be used for dispersal to others so that they will be able to raise their own too. The native chicken can be fed with local feeding materials that are cheap and found in the farm. The area is a training and orientation area too for potential raisers. Our model livelihood project is located near our office in Libertad, Misamis Oriental.
Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our project helping girls with food, education and emergency support. This project is important in order to provide for the various needs of the children so they are prepared and well-equipped when they are adults. With food, education and emergency support we will be able to meet their various needs and during this reporting period, we provide training to 12 young girls on home economics including the raising of small animals such as ducks that they can do in their spare time and not burden them. All of them are very happy about our assistance and they want more especially in teaching them gardening using available spaces in their backyard. We will be doing this starting this week.
