We're happy to share yet another story with a happy ending.

By Gabriela Veras | Team Dara

Dear donor,

We’d like to thank you for your support. We’re happy to share yet another story with a happy ending.

Rafaela is a single mother of three: Anna, 9-years-old, Enzo, 5-years-old, Luiz, 9-months-old. Anna and Enzo have been diagnosed with heart disease. These days, Enzo is able to have check-ups to make sure that the medical interventions performed on him were enough to improve his health.

However, Anna’s diagnosis is a bit more complex. Besides her heart disease, she has congenial cataracts, speech issues, difficulty swallowing, and learning disabilities. To promote her general development, she regularly has cardiac check-ups, undergoes many different stimulation therapies such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and is currently awaiting a scheduled appointment with a neurologist. In 2023, she hopes to be able to go to school and make new friends.

Rafaela was matched with Dara by the hospital where her children undergo treatment, due to her financial difficulties and nutritional uncertainty for herself and 3 children. She receives benefits from the government due to the severity of her eldest’s health condition. She also plans on starting a course that helps her receive an income to help her family’s quality of life improve.

With your donation, we’ve been able to provide her with a food card that allows her to guarantee her family healthier and consistent meals, besides supplies like special formula milk for her youngest, Luiz, and follow-ups with healthcare, housing, education, income, and citizenship specialists.

Thank you very much! Due to your support, we’ve been able to transform the lives of 300 families like Rafaela’s.

Keep donating if possible!

Kind regards,

The Dara Team
