Dear donor,
We’re so grateful for your support that has been so fundamental in our fight against poverty in 300 families every month.
One of those families is Tainara’s. She’s a single mother of three girls: Maria, 9-years-old; Ana, 3-years-old; and Luana, 8-months-old. Tainara is a survivor of domestic violence and during her final pregnancy and had to be hospitalized until she gave birth. She had an emergency birth and in Luana’s first few hours of life, she went into cardiac arrest. At six months old, she was hospitalized once again due to lack of oxygen and was only allowed to leave the hospital at 9-months-old, 3 months after she was admitted. It was then that the family was put in contact with Dara.
Tainara is a dedicated mother that takes care of her three daughters with love. Currently, she can’t work since she doesn’t have anyone to leave her baby daughter with. She lives in the house she inherited from her mother and lives on social security benefits, which isn’t even enough to cover the family’s vulnerable livelihood.
Before entering the Family Action Plan, Tainara admits that she oftentimes wouldn’t eat so that her girls could. These days, using the Dara food card, she can provide her children basic nutritional requirements in every meal. Besides that, she has regular access and guidance from the Dara technical team of doctors, nutritionists, psychologists, social workers, educators, lawyers, and courses that aid in providing income.
Due to your support, we are changing many families’ stories. Thank you very much!
You make a difference! We hope you can keep helping our campaign.
Best wishes and kind regards,
The Dara Team
