Since the beginning of 2026, Alliance for Positive Change is proud to continue its expansion of our Food and Nutrition Services.

To date, we have:

  • Served over 17,000 congregate meals across four of our service center sites
  • Distributed over 2,400 pantry bags. We make every effort to ensure that no one is turned away from receiving food and leaves hungry
  • Provided 6,400 snack bags that include a grain, protein, and fruit
  • Distributed 157 kitchen kits to participants who have moved into permanent housing and helped them start their cooking journey
  • Provided weekly one-on-one group and individual nutrition counseling
  • Given 467 food vouchers to purchase items at a local grocery store
  • Presented on topics such as "Recycle and Regrow: Reusing Food Scraps to Regrow Vegetables" and monthly food demonstrations using pantry items

We are grateful to our supporters for contributing to this essential and meaningful service. The generosity of donors will help us continue serving our participants, even in the face of cuts to funding for SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) and other benefits that are under threat. These funding cuts make our work even more important and urgent in helping low-income New Yorkers access nutritious food that promotes their health and well-being.
