Update on “Food Aid for disabled and underprivileged children.”

(Project # 71732 from Balajothi Centre for the Disabled)

Funding goal: $50,000                  Funds raised to date: $120

Project Report due date: June 16, 2026 / Report sent on: May 04, 2026

 Dear Donor:

Our vision has expanded from Bangalore to Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) of Karnataka. The Gold Fields, where mining has stopped, has left many negative effects on the environment and people's health. The parents who are affected themselves are not in a position to cater to the needs of their affected children nor can they leave them behind and go to other cities looking for jobs. We are supporting them by providing their monthly groceries and necessary medical assistance for sustenance.

Challenge

There are hundreds of families with special children who are completely bedridden. The families, especially with single parents, are unable to provide for their sustenance as they are unable to leave the child alone and go out for work. As a result the child as well as the family struggles for their daily bread.

Solution

Through Balajothi's food aid program we are able to provide rice and other essential food grains such as rice, dal, cooking oil, sugar, and healthcare products such as diapers, catheters and others to these children every month. Currently, we cater to over 30 special children which keeps them in good health with nutritious meals.

Balajothi thanks YOU DONOR for your incredible generous contribution of $120 to date for this noble cause as against $50,000.  With more donors to support this worthy cause, we will be able to provide more such children with the required food.

Long-Term Impact

In the long term these children will be protected from malnutrition and other health problems till as long as the child is alive. This is a long-term project and will continue as long as we receive funds from GlobalGiving's fundraising platform.
