Network for Human and Social Development conducted a response in Mandi Bahauddin after field staff confirmed that the situation in the district was drastically and substantially impacted by the 2025 floods. In this response, food rations were distributed to the worst affected most poverty struck population in the area. NHSD field team also confirmed that the circumstances of the population had not been addressed effectively
The population had sufferred substantial economic and social damage as a result of the floods, having lost their livelihood and fearing that they would also lose their homes if they left, they chose to stay back. Our food rations were distributed to these most vulnerable population which also includes women and children, many of whom are now left without sustainable livelihood or savings.
Our efforts have been able to support a small fraction of the population. Nevertheless, we believe that support in this cause will substantially benefit all of us and through your donations we will be able to further improve our responses in this area in the future.
The likelihood of winter rains impacting the population is also a cause of concern, and NHSD is undertaking endeavors to ensure that the population issues are addressed in advance. Your contributions in this respect will be a signfiicant contribution for the better.
