Serbia has just been struck (May 2014) with a huge natural disaster, caused by heavy rain and overflowing rivers. The worst floods in the Balkans for decades left more than 35 dead and forced over 30,000 people to evacuate from the affected areas. Many towns and villages are completely cut off and emergency services are working around the clock to rescue people.
Damage is already calculated in billions of Euros. No one knows when the people will be able to return and begin to rebuild their homes. The cattle is drowned, and the fields are completely destroyed by water. Some has lost everything they had and will have no place to return. The challenge is to find the funds to reconstruct and rebuild at least ten houses completely so the people can be back and continue with their normal lives.
Our Foundation will engage all its capacities, in line with our previous experience in supporting the most vulnerable people, to assist in reconstruction of houses i.e. building material packages, furniture and applicances. We invite you to join us in these truly difficult times for our country and for the tens of thousands of its citizens, and to invite your friends, acquaintances and family to help as much as they can. Serbia will need support from everywhere.
Thousands of families have lost houses and even whole properties. Whit this project, we will support their return and provide new beginning for these families and their children.
