The severe flooding brought on by the worst rains in over a hundred years was well documented and publicised in the Chennai area. Rural India was also very badly hit hundred miles from Chennai. There had been so little rainfall over the past 15 to 20 years that people build homes in river beds. These of course were quickly washed away by the rainfall, leaving many families with nothing. The problem is that parts of southern India were severely affected by the worst floods hundred years. It washed away people's homes and belongings and even was the cause of hundreds of debts.
This project will provide small relief in the form of blankets and replacing other necessary goods which had been washed away by the floods
