We will build the first pediatric hospice where cancer and non-cancer children can live with their families in their final stage of life. With the technical advice of the EKR Chile Foundation, we will create a building of approximately 800 m2, where we will receive 9 children with their families so that a space for children entering palliative care. We need to equip each building space according to the medical conditions indicated by the doctors.
After 18 years, we have seen the need to create a space for children who enter palliative care, not all have the conditions to receive this type of care in their homes. 25 percent of sick children fail to survive. However, they deserve a good life until the last of their days; accompanied by their family and surrounded by love.
With the contributions received, we will be able to equip and furnish our facilities and thus have a specialized place where oncological and non-oncological children, together with their families, receive palliative care in the final stage of their life.
Having a well-equipped home improves the quality of life of sick children. Likewise, the well-being of their primary caregivers causes an impact on the long-term social good, improving their quality of life by supporting them in physical, emotional, social and financial terms.
