This alliance between Nuestras Huellas, Haciendo Camino, and other local organizations will provide financial training and business workshops to women in the rural areas of Chaco, Argentina. These women have developed cooking, handicraft, weaving, and other skills. This training will help them convert their skills into an entrepreneurial activity, provide a source of income for their families, and encourage their economic independence and capacity for saving.
The rural communities of El Impenetrable in Chaco, Argentina, lack access to quality education, healthcare, and employment opportunities. Because of isolation, lack of infrastructure, and precarious conditions, people tend to migrate to other towns. However, this migration results in loss of land, loss of rural identity, loss of customs and community bonds. It's also challenging for people to adapt to new environments, which can be risky and provide no guarantee of a better quality of life.
In alliance with Haciendo Camino and other local organizations already deeply embedded in the community, Nuestras Huellas seeks to use the financial training that's already wildly successful in vulnerable communities in Buenos Aires to help these women turn their skills into entrepreneurial ventures. We are giving women in these rural communities training for financial literacy, entrepreneurship, leadership, and communication.
When families find economic stability, they can stay in the communities they've lived in for generations instead of braving the risks of migration. Financial stability and independence deeply impacts individuals we work with, which then impacts the whole family. Family financial development then encourages broader community development. When food-related businesses are founded (which is rare in this area), it contributes to the consumption of the community and to tourism. It's a virtuous cycle.
