Dear Supporters,
Thank for for your kind donations through Global Giving for our Elephant Pump project in Katsika Village, in the Mchinji District of Malawi. Your contribution has made it possible for us to install an Elephant Pump and provide water to the Katsika communtiy for life. The Elephant Pump now provides water for 114 people includes 69 children, five of whom are orphans.
The installation of an Elephant Pump is just the beginning of what we do at Pump Aid and we now need your support to begin training the local community in the management and maintenence of the Elephant Pump in Katsika village, so we can ensure the long term sustainability of their water source. The next step in this project is to train local welders and builders to make the different components of the pump and provide spare parts in case it breaks. The community is also educated, with help from staff from the Ministry of Health, in good hygiene and sanitation practices, to prevent the spread of bacteria and disease in the future. Education and training is an essential part of the success of each project and with your generous donations we can ensure the effectiveness and sustainability of the Elephant Project in Katsika Village and change the lives of 114 people for the better.
