ACTIVITY REPORT MAY -AUGUST 2025
Project of supporting the Government to fight the Injustice of Human Trafficking in Rwanda
INTRODUCTION
This project was initiated from 2019 by EJO TWIFUZA in order to support the government to fight the Injustice of Human Trafficking in Rwanda through Education and Transit monitoring and helping potential victims find a safe passage back to their homes.
The Project is implemented by EJO TWIFUZA in partnership with the GlobalGiving, the African Society of Commerce and Management (ASCOM LTD), different local partners and the Government of Rwanda.
The results from this collaboration is that from 2019 to August 2025 our staffs intercepted and provided assistance to more than 428 victims of human trafficking, 4 Suspected criminal traffickers are arrested and other 8 cases of suspected traffickers are under investigations processes in collaboration with the National police and Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB). More than 10,000 population are educated on human trafficking.
More than 28 volunteers and staffs are conducting transit monitoring on 8 identified strategic sites in 8 Districts in 4 provinces and Kigali city in Rwanda.
FINANCIAL SITUATION
From September 2019 to August 2025 the Financial Budget of more than USD 846,000 is just invested from different donors, local contributions and Volunteers investments in this project of fighting against human trafficking in Rwanda.
REALISATIONS FROM MAY TO AUGUST 2025
In the period from May to August 2025 different activities have been realised in education on human trafficking and transit monitoring.
For Education:
An awareness campaign on human trafficking were done in schools where more than 1000 young students in higher schools have been educated on the tragedy of human trafficking and the role of everyone in this fighting.The campaign was organised by EJO TWIFUZA in collaboration with the Rwanda National police, Office of the Immigration, Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB), Rwanda Defence force (RDF), the Local Government authority and schools.
