EJO TWIFUZA PROJECT REPORT 25/10/2023

INTRODUCTION

This Report consist of the project intends to support the Government efforts to Fight against human trafficking in Rwanda through education and land transit monitoring and helping potential victims find a safe passage back to their homes. “Transit Monitoring involves the identification, interception, and assistance of actual or high-risk trafficking victims at transit points (such as airports, borders, and bus or train stations) before they reach the destination where they will be exploited’’ and collects human-trafficking data, and assists local National Police and Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB) with investigations”

ACTIVITIES REALIZED FROM JULY TO OCTOBER 2023

 

From July to October 2023, different activities have been realized such as:

  • 28 Peoples at risks of being trafficked are intercepted from human trafficking and have been assisted to find a way to get safe back in their families from July to October 2023.
  • 4 Volunteers have joined to support our work and are conducting internships in the organization in different activities.
  • The organization have been welcomed in the Human Rights Defenders network in Rwanda.
  • The Country Director participated in the last meeting of Human Right defenders in Rwanda organized by the Netherlands Embassy on 28/09/2023
  • The Country Director of EJO TWIFUZA has done a particular meeting with the EUROPEAN UNION Delegation at the EU Head Office at Kigali on 19/09/2023 on collaboration, partnership and networking to increase the impact of the EJO TWIFUZA interventions.
  • The Country Director conducted an emission on the impact of Climate change on human trafficking in Rwanda on the Voice of America press Radio (VOA) on 11/10/2023, 18h00.
  • The EJO TWIFUZA delegation participated in the National forum on climate change and gender inequality organized by Acord Rwanda on 22/09/2023.
  • Staffs received a training on Digital Marketing in order to use the received skills in improving fund raising on different platforms.
  • FUND RAISING
  •  The total planed project budget equal to $ 1,421,786, We just raised the budget of 7,245 $.

    Thank you to the GlobalGiving for 450$ received raised from the GlobalGiving platform from Mars 2023.

    We thank all volunteers and EJO TWIFUZA members for their working and contribution in nature valued to $ 6,795 in materials and hours of working

    The fund rising process continue and we believe that in the near future we will get necessary funds Budget of $ 1,414,541 to continue implementing this project.
