Project Report | Jan 29, 2026
Our fight against malnutrition never stops

By Paola Vecchiato | Kito president

Dear all,

We are glad to share the most recent updates from our school feeding project in Lantuyan and Adong.

Since our last update, the activities have continued at full pace until the Christmas break, during which we helped create an atmosphere of joy and happiness for our children — happiness that was warmly returned through their smiles and gratitude. We continue to provide nearly 2,000 balanced and nutritious meals each week to approximately 350 children. The medical staff keep confirming a steady improvement in the children’s health and energy levels. School attendance has become increasingly regular and active. At the beginning of the project, in fact, we were pleasantly surprised by a higher level of participation right away, with 30 more children attending compared to the previous year — an increase of 9.4%, which has remained stable, with an average daily attendance rate of 93%, thanks to the assurance of one meal per day, until the end of the year. We continue to receive strong support from the local community, who help us and our staff, and we would also like to thank the children’s parents, who actively contribute to the kitchen activities.

After the Christmas break — a very important holiday period in the Philippines — school activities have resumed at full pace, and we firmly believe they will continue in this positive way until the end of the school year.

We remain convinced that by helping families and the community become self-sufficient, we will achieve our goal of building a strong and resilient community.

Thank you for believing in our project.

Kind regards
