Good day from Puerto Galera, Mindoro Island – Philippines.
Thank you for your interest in our project, we would like to update you on our progress.
Engineer Raymond Shakeri, our field manager, has created new menus for the 333 children attending Adong and Lantuyang elementary schools.
Each week, three mothers employed as cooks prepare complete and balanced meals composed by rice, fruit and one protein element, such as chicken, fish or eggs.
Thanks to your donations, we were able to buy fresh ingredients for the 333 students.
We could also provide construction materials to work on the schools’ canteens, which have received maintenance work and are now equipped with new countertops for meal preparation.
We are now looking for funds to further expand the project and provide the students with balanced and nutritious meals for the entire duration of the school year, while also providing jobs for some mothers.
As mentioned in our last report, our aim is that of fighting malnutrition in children and improving their physical and mental health, while also promoting their education.
By coming together to eat every day, the children can in fact receive a balanced diet and attend school with more consistency and ease.
