Update on our last project report

Thank you for your generous donation to the fight hunger and food insecurity in southeast Nigeria. Contributions like yours are continuing to make a difference. They are supporting Sam Onyemaechi humanitarian Foundation's response efforts and delivering crucial help and hope to people in need amid hostilities, constant stress, and difficult conditions away from home. On the 21st of October 2022, Sam Onyemaechi Humanitarian Foundation received a grant of $20,000 through GlobalGiving from one of their corporate partners, Corteva, to Fight hunger and insecurity in Southeast, Nigeria. We cannot but express our sincere heart of appreciation for your generosity towards our cause in fighting hunger and food insecurity in Southeast, Nigeria. We made an effort to diversify this grant to make sure that all aspects that affect food insecurity and hunger that bedeviled rural communities are touched. We tried our best to educate the indigents and Less privileged rural communities on the need to be self reliance and to utilize every opportunity to be independent of themselves, to start a small and medium size business. We organized a seminar on the topic: "You become what you make yourself to be" and "Talent Discovery", with our mantra, do not expect to be giving already caught fish, it can only make you poorer and poorer but asked to be shown how to catch the fish yourself so that you can be self reliant and independent of Yourself. We educated them on the importance of learning skills that will help them in life. We organized a workshop and invited facilitators and instructors to educate them on vocational skills. The program is on-going and will run for three months learning and six months of mentorship to educate and teach them more on the need to be self-reliant and be useful to themselves and society. We channeled this grant into our project causes on: a) Fighting hunger and food insecurity in Southeast, Nigeria, b) Food processing and packaging machine c) Post- covid-19 recovery package d) Training 3k widows in snail farming in Southeast, Nigeria, e) Mentoring 5000 women Entrepreneurs in Southeast, Nigeria f) Expedite young-adult empowerment initiative in Southeast g) Give succour and Refuge to the poor and homeless. h) help fight climate action in s/east nigeria, i) Feed 5000 children on their children's charity day, j) Send a child to school in the rural southeast, We tried to make sure that this grant is used judiciously in all areas to fight hunger and food insecurity and to enhance their living standard. Buying of Equipment for food processing and packaging received the greater chunk of the grant. We discovered that buying more of equipment for food processing and packaging machine will benefit alot for sustainability and financial stability of the organization. Whatever the proceeds, will be channeled towards fighting hunger and food insecurity, we used 35% of the grant in providing equipment to produce more food so as to fight hunger and food insecurity in the southeast. Below is how we receive money and how it was used. *INCOME* a) Part of Grant from Corteva through GlobalGiving to fight hunger and food insecurity in the southeast, Nigeria =$5,000 b) Received from GlobalGiving on the disbursement received on the 9/30/2022 Project 53057 - FIGHT HUNGER & FOOD INSECURITY IN S/EAST, NIGERIA - $9.00 c) balance of last income and expenditures brought forward= $6.45 Grand total = $5,015.45 Below is a short description of some of the humanitarian relief you have supported us with your donation and how it was used.
