ISF uses football as a tool to educate, motivate, and empower children. Help us to sponsor a girl's football team to promote education, social inclusion, gender equality, and life and soft skill development through sport for disadvantaged young women and girls in Cambodia.
Poverty, domestic expectations, cultural traditions, and stereotypes present major barriers to women and girls across Cambodia. They are often left without an education and the chance to get involved in games like football are scarce. Facing discrimination both on the pitch and in their everyday lives, many are left in an endless cycle of poverty and lack the opportunity to create sustainable pathways. Just 10% of sport management roles and 20% of elite athletes in the country are women.
Our Football Programme provides over 770 girls access to football in a safe environment through regular training, matches, and tournaments, life-skills training, and social impact sessions. At the core of these activities is a vital focus on the importance of education, development of confidence and soft-skills, and tackling social issues to empower players to challenge the stereotypes, discrimination, and traditional gender roles that prevents them from participating in both sport and society.
We believe in a future where all people have access to the same opportunities, no matter their gender. Our aim is to increase girl's access to football and education, fight for gender equality, and offer the tools needed to build a more inclusive future. With your help, we can provide players with the opportunity to play the game they love, promote education and skills development, and celebrate progression towards gender equality to create a more equal future for women and girls in Cambodia.
