On the Eve of World Food Day, our team at Banco de Alimentos Cáritas Puebla reflects on both the critical challenges facing our region and the incredible strides made possible by our global community of donors.
In Puebla and Tlaxcala, thousands of families face severe food insecurity daily. Through our work, we rescue surplus, high-quality food from agricultural fields, wholesalers, and supermarkets before it goes to waste. In the lead-up to World Food Day, your generous contributions have allowed us to maintain weekly delivery runs (despensas) directly to vulnerable families' homes.
Every $25 USD donated directly funds the sorting, cold storage, and logistics needed to provide a full month’s worth of food security for an entire family. Just last month, we provided direct food assistance to 804 of the most vulnerable families in our region, distributing approximately 2,857 essential food packages.
With your continued support, we will keep working toward our goal: ensuring food security for all.
¡Muchas gracias for standing with us in the fight against hunger!
