In most communities in Uganda, only 47.5% of school-going children aged 6-12 years receive meals at school, with a higher proportion in urban households (58.2%) compared to rural households (43.8%) according to ministry of education. Needy sch0ool children aged 6-12 suffer from hunger, malnutrition, and poor health, hindering their cognitive development, academic performance, and future prospects. Lack of access to nutritious meals exacerbates poverty, illiteracy, and poor health outcomes.
