Eid ul Adha is a time of sharing, dignity, and togetherness, yet many Deaf and financially vulnerable families in Pakistan are unable to afford Qurbani or enjoy fresh meat during the celebration. Through this project, Deaf Welfare Awareness Foundation (DWAF) will provide Qurbani meat to deserving Deaf families identified through its community network. Your support will help families celebrate Eid with dignity, inclusion, and the comfort of knowing they are not forgotten.
For many low-income Deaf families in Pakistan, Eid ul Adha brings additional financial pressure. Unemployment, limited employment opportunities, rising household expenses, communication barriers, and restricted access to mainstream support programs can make it difficult for families to meet even their basic needs. For households already struggling with food expenses, purchasing Qurbani meat is often beyond their means.
DWAF will use the funds raised through this project to arrange Qurbani and distribute fresh meat among deserving Deaf and financially vulnerable families. Our Deaf community network and local representatives will help identify families in need so that assistance reaches appropriate beneficiaries in a respectful and organized manner. The project will prioritize vulnerable households, including low-income Deaf families,
Beyond the Eid distribution itself, the initiative strengthens DWAF's connection with vulnerable Deaf households across different communities. These connections help us identify families who may also require longer-term support related to education, skills development, employment, healthcare, assistive devices, and social protection. The project also demonstrates the importance of making humanitarian and community support accessible to persons with disabilities.
